I have tried the reverse wrap method and it works great. I think the best way to learn is to get some baling twine, unravel and split it, and then make a new piece of cordage with it. That saves alot of the material trial and error and lets you work on the contruction. After you get the hang of it, start working with your grasses, bark, stems, horse hair, dog hair, yucca or whatever else you are going to use.
