Vermont Parasites

Hi everyone

Last August I went camping at Stillwater SP on Groton Lake.  It was cold so when I went swimming I had on a short sleeve wet suit.  I was in the water for 20 minutes, and came out covered in tiny parasites.

They were 3/8 inch long, tiny thin, opaque tan/yellow in color.  The body looked sectional like a tape worm.  One of them found a scratch on my leg so I felt that one.   Salt took them off easy like a leach. 

I looked at the leach report from F-G it was line drawings so that didn't help.  Anyone know what they are?   Tiny lamprey, leach?

I spotted a nice BOL nearby, but not being able to swim is a deal breaker.

Oh if you use them to keep Mass-holes away, it worked.

Heh - at first glance of your topic post I was wondering if you were ranting about the idiots around The Socialist Republic of Burlington heh..

My Dad's family where/are all from Vermont. The family farm was in Waterbury center. My dad is buried up there in the shadow of mount Hunger and we all have plots in that cemetery. I spend most of my time in Maine however these days when I head out of state that is. I live in the Boston area. Most of my cousins are either in that area or some parts of southern Vermont.

 My dad left Vermont when he was quite young after college but he always strongly identified himself as a Vermonter and spent a lot of time up there. When I was quite young we would go deer hunting in Vermont at one of my uncles places. He and my uncle grew up in Rutland. He also knew Jim Jeffords who was a US Senator. They lived next door to Jeffords in Rutland growing up. My dad was a star quarterback in high school there but was knocked out in a game and couldn't remember his name for about a week from the concussion.

Years ago at a family reunion in Vermont a friend of the family joked that I was a traitor because I had a camp in Maine.
