All:

Newbie here. I got this website from a friend. Good so far!

I'm trying to locate legitimate Texas Militia. Constitution loving patriots. Not anti-semitic, white supremacist, bomb-the-government types. Just legal, law abiding, son's of liberty.

Any leads?

I think with the current administration in power, I doubt you'll have anyone put down that they are in one or know of one.  This will need to be something you do face-to-face with people you know and trust.

My weapons are strictly medicinal, they cure such ailments as: child molesters, rape, burglary, home invasions, and anything else my state feels is a worthy reason to use lethal force...  ;D

What's the old joke?  The only person at a militia meeting who is not an ATF agent is an FBI agent.  Or something along those lines.

In hindsight, good point.

Accidental,

While I am fairly certain I know your perspective in enunciating that individual's "first post" I am reminded, painfully just how far down the rat hole we as Americans have slid and been "sterilized" ny our gov't- literally.

While said indoctrination reflexively raises the hackles of suspicion due to the dastardly tactics of the .gov and other racist miscreants, the question and desireto affilliate with like minded individuals is not only reasonable but a Constitutional right.  In fact, at one time it was considered the duty of all able bodied men to affilliate themselves with a local militia.

Indeed it was.  The colonial militia had state-of-the-art rifled muskets and CANNON.  I'd say the people's right to keep an bear arms has been infringed quite a bit since then.  And our right to peacably assemble for ensuring that we are "well regulated" (i.e. fully trained and functional).  And the fact that we are afraid to speak openly about it says a WHOLE lot about just how tyrannical and oppressive our government has become.

It's sad.

Good points and counter points by all.

Maybe my first post was too blunt. However, that's me. I speak what I think and go straight for the answers.

Again, I'm not looking for a hate group or anyone out looking to start a fight. I believe that the militia is a defender of freedom, not an aggressor. I believe that being an able bodied male between 18-45 already makes me the militia. I'm just looking for like minded folks who are a little more prepared then the average Joe. If the time ever did come to defend ground I would like to already be trained in the art of "move, shoot, and communicate." I did serve in the military as a wrench but would like to expand my knowledge base on squad/platoon size movements.

I think I'll start with the Appleseed Project. Seems to be some like minded folk there.

Appleseed is not about "militia" training.

The majority of the class covers "basic" rifle marksmanship.  To include field position shooting (Prone, sitting, kneeling, standing), Sling use, and the steps to fire the shot.  We get into position changes and target shifts, Natural point of aim, Inches-Minutes-Clicks....

We do not get into small unit tactics.

Unless you consider coordinating with your friends (via letter, phone, email, letter to the editor, talk radio) to address our friends in govt.

We are mainly about waking up Americans.  Getting them involved in our governmental process.

Welcome to the survival podcast and to Appleseed.
