I hope I'm posting this in the right section. I generally go on trips with the RV, and since the lockdown kind of messed up the plans we had, we'll likely go on a trip mid-July, beginning of August. The weather is hellish in that period, but I'm not willing to delay the trip any further cause who known, maybe in autumn there'll be another outbreak and we'll end up locked again. Can any of you suggest an ok AC or any other cooling means for the RV?

 I've had Campers & Motor homes for years, all have had roof AC units made be Coleman. They have done a fair job keeping me cool.
 My newest 2020 Thor Class "C" has Coleman as well. i prefer to have a white or light colored RV less heat absorption.
 Putting the Awning out decreases sun hitting the side "Some" .
Hope your camping this year will he Happy ones .I generally go to state parks, which have pretty good shaded sites.

My suggestion is to look at where you are camping.  Full shade makes cooling much easier.  I'm in the Mid-Atlantic and we go to Lake Sherwood in WV most years.  Being in the mountains and under full shade means that we rarely require AC.  We do carry a generator for the AC, but don't use it often.

As for AC models, Coleman doesn't make any of their products.  Dometic and Atwood are the main brands.  Coleman likely has one of these make their AC unit for them.

I agree with keebler, Coleman is indeed a reliable AC manufacturer, you likely won't go wrong with this brand. I'll leave you some sources cause there are quite a few manufacturers that you can get the cooling unit and that are sure to be on par with your needs. Just when you do select an AC, make sure the BTU rating and the CFM match what you need for your size RV.

Beware to look into how energy efficient it is too, and aim for one that puts at your disposal selectable settings for the speed so you can adjust it to how much cooling you consider necessary at that moment. Other than that, I guess you're good to go. You should also aim for shaded spaces where you park your RV cause chances are you won't need to run the AC as much or even at all during your stay if the sun doesn't shine directly on the vehicle.
