Title: tailgate lock
Post by: sludgy_nixer on January 05, 2009, 06:45:57 PM
anyone have any experience with this model/type of tailgate lock?

Description:
The NEW Pop & Lock installs in minutes and stays in place for permanent protection. It's made of hardened steel and painted black to match
the plastic insert around the tailgate handle. It mounts in the recess underneath the handle and has a raised lock for convenience and an OEM look.

I have one and have managed to not have my tailgate and/or straps stolen (again).  It works OK, not super strong, but strong enough to make the thieve go a couple parking places down to the next truck that doesn't have a lock.

Is your concern having your tailgate stolen, or the contents of your bed?  If it's the bed, what is covering your bed?

i'm looking for a way to secure the contents in the bed. obviously if someone wants in they'll get in, i just want to make them
think twice or work their arse off to get it. but not having my gate stolen would be nice too :)
i have a atc fiberglass shell covering the bed. dual locking t-handles.
