MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- Miami police issued a plea for information Saturday after at least one person with an assault rifle opened fire on a crowd of people on a streetcorner Friday night, killing two teens and wounding seven other people.

Evidence markers dot the Miami street where nine people were gunned down with an AK-47 Friday night.

Heck yeah! Those inanimate objects are dangerous. Without Ak-47's, those gangstas's would be upstanding citizens.

Statistically speaking there are more auto mobile accidents per year than the total deaths due to guns. So perhaps our community should jump on the bandwagon to get rid of cars because they kill people. Afterall it is the car's fault - not the driver.  ::)

"These are weapons of war, and they don't belong on the streets of Miami or any other street in America," Mayor Manuel Diaz said.

So, he probably is in support of de-militarizing the police force as well?  Some people don't understand the problem is the asshole behind the gun.

By the way, what makes an assault rifle an assault rifle?  My SKS has about the same capacity as some semi-auto hunting rifles and less than my pistol.  Do they have a magic list out there or what?

The one of the real risk is in how they define assault rifle.   If they define it as any caliber used by the military, then guns as common as a standard pump action shotgun would fall in that arena.
