Urgent - Action Requested from Indiana residents
« on: October 12, 2009, 11:09:52 AM »
Greetings!

I need to ask of you to take some action TODAY and TOMORROW, please.  This is an opportunity for each of us in Indiana to make a difference in what happens in Washington .

There is legislation pending and Indiana Senator Evan Bayh is in play.

I need each of you to call each of the offices and let them know that we do not support any of the current healthcare legislation which is being presented.  PLEASE DO THIS TODAY AND TOMORROW.

I need for each of you to make clear that Evan Bayh's future as a Senator for the State of Indiana is at risk if he votes for this legislation.

I need for each of you to make clear that the people of the State of Indiana sent him to Washington to represent us and that he will do so by voting against any legislation being presented at this time.

I need for you to PLEASE call two other people you know and ask them to do the same thing.

I called the main line for the Senator this morning and they have engaged the voicemail and are not taking calls...it is a holiday you know.  PLEASE swamp their other lines.  Force them to take positive action.

PLEASE, this is critical folks.  Please take action now.

Tim

Calling for the people here to contact their reps to tell them what they think is one thing, but it sounds like you are trying to tell the members here what they should tell their reps.  Not cool in my opinion.  People here are pretty independent thinkers and don't need to be told what you need them to do.  There's probably at least some people around here that are in favor of the health care legislation.

Of course I could be overly sensitive, and you may not be telling people what to think.  If I'm off base here, I apologise.

You, and anyone else, has my apologies.

I was under the assumption that most of the folks on here would be of the same mind as myself on this issue.

If you would like for the government to be in charge of your healthcare, you should call and let them know to press ahead.

I however will be on the other side of the door letting them know not to bother coming home to Indiana if they do.

You are probably correct that most people here are against this issue, me included.

However, it's different to ask people to contact their reps to voice their opinion than it is to tell them what to tell them.  Strictly a wording issue.
