Well if I thought a modern day Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, etc. was my dictator I would have some reaction as well.
It's important to remember that these are coddled mentally unaware children. Unlike us who are happy to discuss the ideal man in terms of Nietzsche, Kant, and Aristotle they work in terms of mob violence screaming "racist, sexist, homophobe" not aware that they are following the Hegelian dialectic. To them all knowledge is subjective and moveable. Scientific method is abandoned in lieu of "scientific consensus" unless we are defining terms in biology where every definition can be redefined by the subject.
I can debate a socialist. But how do I argue with a Marxist who never read Das Kapitol and doesn't know who Lenin and Trotsky were? How do I get lectured about election results from a person who never read The Federalist Papers or John Locke? How do you scream "tax the rich" without knowing the key differences between Keynes, Friedman, and Hayek?
You will never win a battle of logic in a cult of personality. And the young American left has decided the path forward is historical ignorance, intellectual sloth, cultural Marxism, collectivism, and a zeitgeist of fearful namecalling. A libertarian and a constitutionalist can sit down and have wonderful conversations about French Civil Code vs. English Common Law, Madisonian Republic vs. Swiss Cantons, or writers of the Harlem Renaissance and walk away richer. But you toss one college "educated" lefty in there and you'll get an earbeating about cultural appropriation, racism, sexism, trans rights and you'll get nowhere.
