Starbucks Bomb and Shooting in Vegas Suburb

This one is less than a mile from my house.  Usually a fairly peaceful middle class suburb, about 5 or 6 miles from the Strip.

The suspiscious backpack was deemed safe.

"Police say that two people were arguing inside of a Starbucks in the area and one person was shot. That person was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The other person, a male who appears to be in his 40s, was arrested."

So... not great for the guy who was shot in the chest and died, but also not a mass shooting or bombing either.

Latest report - he was in the Starbucks drive thru and his card declined.  He parked his vehicle, came in side, started getting belligerent, at which point another customer likely told him to chill or something, so he shot him in the chest, probably at fairly close range.  I've been in that Starbucks a few times, and it's not very large.

Then, while everyone else was calling the cops about him, he called them too, and tried to misdirect them to a fictitious suspect that looked nothing like him.  But they arrested him as the customers were filing out under the direction of the police.

The customer he shot died, which is not surprising considering he shot him in the chest.  The shooter has a criminal record, and they are thinking he may have gang ties.

What an ass.  Meth, or just a gigantic ego?

Don't know yet.  I'm thinking ego, but it could be both.

You take a HUGE risk shooting someone in public in broad daylight here in Vegas.  We have open carry without a license, and concealed carry is "shall issue."  If this had been in Walmart or Home Depot, the suspect never would have made it out of the building.  But it was Starbucks so... you know.
