Trying to figure out what is going on, but it looks bad..

within the last 90 minutes:
- Riot police deployed after Ferguson, MO police fatally shot an unarmed teen multiple times (10 times). The fatal shooting occurred at the Canfield Green Apartment Complex when a Ferguson police officer opened fire and shot 18 year old Michael Brown multiple times to the head and chest. Michael was set to attend Vatterott College on Monday, a family member said. Friends, family and the entire neighborhood are outraged and are on the streets confronting police and begging for answers. Mike Brown was staying with his grandmother for the summer, who lived in the community

- Police in riot gear, Ferguson community march to police station
- Situation in Ferguson getting very tense after police killed unarmed teenager Mike Brown

- Crowd shouting "We are Michael Brown!"
- RIGHT NOW: At the Ferguson police dept headquarters
- Police from over 10 different departments are now on the streets in Ferguson, MO. Riot police are also on scene with rifles and dogs.

Mike Brown's body was left in the street for four hours before the police removed him.

""He threw his hands up and they shot him. The boy fell and they shot him some more."

People in the street shouting "No Justice, No Peace" and blocking a Kinloch police car from passing

The fatal shooting of a black teenager by police sent hundreds of angry residents out of their apartments Saturday in a St. Louis suburb, igniting shouts of "kill the police" during a confrontation that lasted several hours

"Witnesses said Brown was unarmed and had his hands up in the air when he was gunned down."

"Dorin Johnson said he was walking with Brown down the middle of the street when a police car pulled up. The officer told the teens to use the sidewalk, according to Johnson. After an exchange of words, the officer shot Brown even after he raised his hands in the air, Johnson said."

Those two sentences together is a lil funny.  Was it a prayer circle shouting "kill the police"?  Its gonna be interesting to hear the details.  The MSM will probably only keep the prayer circle in the main story and leave out the other stuff.  I have a feeling that something like this is going to cause riots one of these days.  And I have a feeling that the riots are going to not only be against the police.

In all the cases like this one lately it all begins with people disobeying an officer.  That guy in NY that was choked wouldn't have died if he wouldn't have resisted arrest and I bet this wouldn't have happened if the "teens" would have went to the sidewalk or hadn't been walking in the road to begin with.

I don't want to defend the officer b/c this sounds like a severe overreaction, but I don't want to outright attack him before all the details are out.  It seems like attacking the police is all too common these days for all different groups of people.

It is interesting that so far I have not seen any 'kill the police' videos from anyone on YouTube and in all honesty I think I would if it had happened. I will look again today, but working on Iraq right now. A white guy was tweeting last night from Fergusen and was not mentioning anything other than peaceful protest. He saw Brown killed. And then he was really pissed about it, so I figure he was not on the police's side. He was the only Caucasian I saw.

I was also listening to 2 scanners and when the police keyed up, you could hear the protestors in the background and I heard no such "kill the police".

Does that mean ALL people should ALWAYS obey ALL police no matter what?

I think that recording EVERY interaction with the police ALL the time is a good idea.

(says she who was pulled over a week ago for a missing registration sticker - it fell off - and did NOT even think to record the interaction)

Does that mean ALL people should ALWAYS obey ALL police no matter what?

Facts:
The grandmother allegedly says she saw her grandson heading home, as she drove past him a few blocks away.
There was another kid with Brown. Dorin Johnson said he was walking with Brown down the middle of the street when a police car pulled up. The officer told the teens to use the sidewalk, according to Johnson.
Authorities say that the shooting happened after an altercation that involved two people and an officer, so it happened QUICKLY after grandma drove by them.
Police said one of the men pushed the officer back into his squad car and the struggle began.
Authorities aren't sure if the second person was unarmed, and he has not been arrested.
During the news conference you can hear, "We want answers" and "no justice, no peace," and some carried signs saying "stop police terrorism" and "disarm the police."
Witness Says Teen's Hands Were Up When Cop Shot Him: A woman who says she witnessed the shooting of Michael Brown

So my questions...

* Grandma passed them in a car 2 blocks from the house. That takes like 2 minutes to drive. She said minutes after pulling into the driveway she heard the commotion.. saw her grandson dead in the middle of the street. So in 10 minutes it went from grandma driving past them, a cop driving up to Brown and Johnson to tell them to get out of the middle of the street, to a pushing match, to 10 rounds of bullets, to grandma finding Brown dead in the street?

* Who pushed whom first? It is said Brown never got into a fight ever in his life. Was it him or Johnson who pushed? Or was it the cop? Why did the cop get out of the car? Where is the officer's car's tape/video? Does a cop get out of the car to tell someone to get out of the street? Or do they just 'pull up to them', as Johnson said.. and then get out of the patrol car?
They are saying Brown was unarmed, but they are not saying if Johnson was unarmed. Police are not saying one way or the other. But if he was unarmed, wouldn't they release that info?

Too many questions.

Holder and Obama need to stay out of this. seriously.  they have aggravated racial tensions too much in the past (which is probably exactly what they want  :tinfoily: )

Story is changing..

"An unarmed teenager killed Saturday by Ferguson police, spawning continuing community unrest, had struggled for an officer's gun in a patrol car first, authorities announced this morning."

So how does it go from two kids walking down the center of the road, to the cop pulling up beside them telling the kids to get out of the middle of the road, to one of the kids trying to get the gun off the officer while the officer is in the car, then running away? But at the same time, witnesses say that Brown had his hands in the air.

So was he running away? Or standing with his hands in the air?

And to me, it defies reason that it goes from "Get out of the middle of the road', to someone leaning through the window to try to take a cops gun, and then run/stand with the hands up.

"200 cops in riot gear in Ferguson because there is a prayer circle and a concerned compassionate community"

The fatal shooting of a black teenager by police sent hundreds of angry residents out of their apartments Saturday in a St. Louis suburb, igniting shouts of "kill the police" during a confrontation that lasted several hours

Let me tell you something about "disobeying an officer;" I don't know who teaches theses guys that yelling is a good idea, but it isn't.  I've seen officers yell at friends of mine and been yelled at before.  When somebody with a gun and a badge goes red faced and starts screaming unintelligibly it doesn't foster a climate of obedience or compliance.  It makes one wonder just how far off his meds this guy has gone.

Two years ago, June of 2012, there was a US Army exercise in St. Louis where they dispatched tanks to train their tank operators on how to navigate a tank through an urban environment. Therefore, there are likely hundreds if not thousands of perfectly legitimate and very recent photos --in the cloud-- of real tanks rolling through identifiable St. Louis neighborhoods at all hours of the day and night. Any of those photos could get pulled and used as "evidence" for the claim that the National Guard is rolling tanks through town.
